On behalf of the Alameda Island Poets, Artists Embassy International, Border's Books, Dress Barn, and Daphne's, we want to congratulate Cathy Dana for being our 1st Annual Summer Site Write Audience Twitter Pick. Her poem entry was #96 "My Mother Believes in Books" inspired by Borders. Congratulations Cathy!Border's. Summer Site Write has moved to Webster Street this week and we hope you will continue to support poetry in Alameda!

Calling all our young local songwriters and musicians. Alameda Towne Centre is hosting a Young Songwriters Workshop & Jam Session Performance on Sunday, August 1, 2010. The Workshop featuring the legendary DC Carter is for musicians who are advanced in their mastery of playing and singing.
Workshop: 1pm-3:45 pm at that Alameda Towne Centre’s Center Court Stage
Jam Session Performance: 5:30pm – 7pm.
